CCHIT Publishes First Draft of 2011 Comprehensive Dermatology Criteria
Cave Creek Arizona 11/24/2009 - On November 16, 2009 CCHIT released the first draft of the 2011 Comprehensive Dermatology Criteria for public comment.
ZipChart, Inc. is excited to announce that, after reviewing the criteria, ZipChart either meets or exceeds the criteria selected for 2011 Certification, as well as most of the criteria for 2013 and 2015 Roadmap.
While ZipChart is not currently a CCHIT certified product, and is not sure that we would be at anytime based on the uncertainty in the certification process at this time. We are pleased to note that the items that were determined by members of the American Academy of Dermatology to be of importance for an EMR to be efficient for Dermatologist, are things that ZipChart has either had in place since the inception of ZipChart or through various updates.
These criteria include:
- The ability to capture characteristics of a lesion (color, size, shape, arrangement, distribution, type, scale and signs)
- The ability to annotate body diagrams or photos with free text or drawing
- The ability to create a log with status of specimens from the time of removal through final action by provider
- The ability to add free-hand diagrams for an encounter
- The ability to document an evolving surgical defect, the location(s), of a tumor on each stage of resected tissue, and final surgical defect
- The ability to provide a library of cutaneous anatomic diagrams
- The ability to annotate body diagrams or photos with free text of DermLex
- The ability to display photos side-by-side
- The ability to create a log with status of specimens removed from the time of removal through final action taken by the provider without double entry of information
- The ability to annotate standard cutaneous diagrams using free text or DermLex
- The system shall provide the ability to e-fax the entire patient electronic record and/or components
- The ability to import and view gross and microscopic imagery using standard imaging formats.
- The ability to store a video recording of an encounter
There are a few criteria that require the use of DermLex, currently ZipChart does not have the Dermatology Lexicon, but will implement as necessary when the Federal certification standard has been finalized.
