In this issue of the ZipChart News we would like to make a few announcements and hope to clear up confusion regarding the government regulations on HITECH (ARRA 2009) incentive money.

Another Great IEPG Dermatology Coding Conference in Las Vegas

	We were excited to again be invited to attend the IEPG Coding Conference in Las Vegas. This year the conference was held "off-the-strip" at the all-suite resort Rio. Aside from the mingling with the attendees between class sessions and at the cocktail party we had the opportunity to see Inga sporting a fruit hat a la Carmen Miranda style!
We wanted to thank all the people that visited our booth in the exhibit hall and to do so we have exciting offer for any group interested in our EMR. HITECH Incentives in the ARRA and CCHIT Certification

We have had a few IEPG conference attendees approach us with questions regarding our certification and whether a CCHIT certification was required to receive ARRA incentive funds. We are aware that there was some misinformation distributed as to whether or not ZipChart qualifies for ARRA funds. Currently, there are NO EMRs certified for ARRA funds.

A CCHIT certified EMR does not qualify for ARRA funds! And there are concerns as to whether CCHIT will even be the certifying body. Mark Leavitt, MD, PhD Chair of CCHIT states:"CCHIT is currently an HHS recognized certification body, and expects to continue that status under the accreditation process yet to be developed by HHS/ONC; however we are unable to guarantee that outcome."
